Well, The Food Storage Came In Handy

So you know that the world ends on Saturday, right? Yep, it does.

I'm currently finishing up my bucket list before I kick off this sad planet and jettison somewhere much more happening.

At least I got to see the season finales of most of my shows. That's a bonus.

I've had some seriously great family time the last few months, that should tide me over for a while in the hereafter.

Dang, I had just gotten a decent clientele at work. Oh well. Whaddya do?

My food storage situation is golden. I'm pretty sure we could go 2 more days on our stores of noodles and beans.

We don't have any student loans to pay off, so that's good. Or not good. Eh, either way, I guess.

I wish I'd been able to enjoy better weather before I head into the blinding white of heaven.

I might not be going to heaven. Hmm. I should work on that. Maybe I can cram for the next two days and just skim by.

I hope they have bowling in heaven. And ice cream. And coke. And books.

I guess mostly I'll try to make the best of the next couple of days, and live like I was dyin'. Did you see how I channeled Tim McGraw there? Yeah, I'm that awesome.

More Reasons I Hate Martha

This morning I was enjoying a rare respite between kids leaving for school and Gretta waking up to demand breakfast (Among other things, well all things, really, but that's an entirely different post).

I clicked on the tube, which I don't usually do until lunch time, and caught the last 30 or 40 minutes of the LMN beauty that is Martha: The Story of Martha Stewart. Later today they will be showing Martha Behind Bars. I don't wanna miss that one, fo sho.

Don't ask me why I felt compelled to sit and watch. I don't like Cybill Shepard, who plays a less than convincing likeness of Martha. The acting was terrible. The story line was painful.

And then it just ended.

No wrapping things up, no final dramatic scene, it just sort of ended with a shot of her walking through a small town livestock festival like some sort of Goddess.

Weird.

But even though I don't like Martha per se, I don't really hate her. I just hate that she has set such a high standard for us stay at home types, one we can never achieve without sacrificing all the things we choose to stay home for.

She does make a killer cake stand, and some nice comfy sheets, though. So props to her for that.

Perhaps I'm Heartless

But am I the only one that thinks Michael Jackson was a freak?

He was.

Look at him.

I know we shouldn't judge based on looks, but when he was black, then white, then his nose falls off, and his chin gets all square, and his hair gets all greasy, it's hard not to judge.

Then there was the whole thing about sleeping in a bed with little boys.

Can we forget that in lieu of a little moonwalk? I think not.

I'm not heartless enough to know how hard it is to lose a family member, but come on people. There are other songs to be played on the radio, and E! should probably get a clue and stop with the "Breaking News" updates already.

Did we forget Farrah died? And what about Ed McMahon? I'm pretty sure they deserve a tribute more than MJ, for they never had to stand trial for child molestation charges.

I'm just sayin...
