And Here I Sit

I'm hiding out downstairs, listening to a conversation going on between Sean and his parents upstairs.

They're trying to figure out a schedule. A schedule for laundry, showers, and whatnot.

Yesterday was tricky. We have to be to church at 11, and they have to be at church at 1, sometimes earlier for meetings. That puts all 7, or 8 if Spencer is visiting like he was yesterday, of us vying for the shower during the same 1 hour window. It's not pretty. There's a lot of almost seeing people in their undies, and running half naked from the bathroom to the bedroom with a towel strategically placed and a prayer in your heart that no one is walking down the hall at said time.

It's good times.

Don't get me wrong, I love living here. I love having a place to call home during this time of upheaval. But here I sit, wondering how long I can tempt fate and not get caught naked and soaking wet by a dear, unsuspecting family member. Perhaps at that moment, I'll be evicted and banished to a homeless shelter, where I'll sit and post about other, more important, less embarrassing things.

I don't know but I think getting caught in your undies or naked is something worthwhile to post about.

Ah...welcome to my hell...er, I mean world! I keep telling myself to be grateful. I'm not homeless, I'm not freezing to death in the cold, I'm not hungry, I'm not alone...but, let's face it, it's hard! I feel your pain on the shower thing and the laundry and the dishes and the food. Being roommates with family members is sooooo hard sometimes. If you ever need to vent it out, call me. I know where we can go and hang for free and be warm and if you have a lap top, you get free wifi! It's awesome!

you're lucky that you married into a clayton family, because if you were caught in your skivs anywhere else it might actually be awkward

That is too funny! My question is why don't you go to church at the same time? Maybe have your kiddos shower the night before...We were in your neck of the woods today...couldn't remember where Sean's fam lives or we would have stopped by!!

This is how they roll Clement style.... a bath once a week whether they needed it or not. WTH?? You could always put this rule into effect while stayiing at the Claytons... :) Love you!

Phoebe's husband is usually the one to suggest a schedule when there are multiple numbers of us here at the holidays - that number can be 20+!! I usually just opt for the earliest shot.

But we do have two showers - and a tankless water heater. Still it worked fine the year Harry and Dawn lived with us.

This too shall pass!

This post pretty much sums up my childhood, thanks for the walk down memory lane.

I have a shower if you would. Just come on over! You have already walked in front of Troy in your g's so it would be no big deal around here.

So after reading this, I had a dream about it. Probably TMI for a blog comment, but I should tell you about it sometime.
